Driver Training Licence

The new Driver Trainer’s Licence will cover instructors for public and participant liability, as well as professional indemnity, when they are working at approved venues or racing circuits. Professional driving instructors, who train members of the public in advanced, defensive or race competition activities, will be able to enjoy greater peace of mind and insurance cover thanks to a new product launched by the Australian Auto Sport Alliance (AASA).

Club Race Licence Application / Renewal

This licence is valid for AASA sanctioned drive days, test and tune days, regularity events, lap dash / sprint events, touring road events, drift events, motorkhanas / autokhanas, hill climbs, regularities etc. It is not a racing licence and cannot be used to compete in racing events at race meetings. To apply for a Club Racing Licence, please complete the Club Licence Application. To renew an existing licence, please complete the same form and include your current licence number.

National Race Licence Application / Renewal

This is a racing competition licence and is the only licence which can be used to compete in racing events at race meetings. To apply for a National Racing Licence, please complete the National Race Licence Application. The medical section of this application is to be completed by a doctor every two years. To renew an existing licence, please complete this form and include your current licence number.

National Tarmac Rally Licence Application / Renewal

A national tarmac rally licence is used to compete in tarmac or gravel rally events.  Applicants must hold a current driver’s licence and provide details of previous experience.

To apply for a National Tarmac Rally Licence, please complete the National Tarmac Rally Licence Application Form.

To renew an existing licence, please complete the same form and include your current licence number.

Tarmac Rally Navigator Licence Application / Renewal

Navigators sit alongside drivers in rally events. The Tarmac Rally Navigator Licence can be used at both tarmac and gravel rally events, but does not entitle the holder to drive a vehicle during rally events.

To apply for a Tarmac Rally Navigator Licence, please complete the Tarmac Rally Navigator Licence application form.

To renew an existing licence, please complete the same form and include your current licence number.

National Gravel Rally Licence Application / Renewal

A national gravel rally licence is used to compete in gravel rally events. It cannot be used to compete in tarmac rally events. Applicants must hold a current driver’s licence and provide details of previous experience.

Gravel Rally Navigator Licence Application / Renewal

Navigators sit alongside drivers in rally events. The Gravel Rally Navigator Licence does not entitle the holder to drive a vehicle during gravel rally events. It cannot be used in tarmac rally events.

Extreme Event Licence Application / Renewal

An extreme event licence is used to participate in extreme events such as burnouts, go-to-whoa, drag racing (specified events only), power skids, tractor pull and other events which specify an AASA Extreme Event Licence in the supplementary regulations.

This licence does not entitle the holder to participate in test and tune, drifting, motorkhana or khanacross, lap dash or regularity events. Should you wish to participate in these events, an AASA Club Racing Licence will be required.

National Speedway Licence Application / Renewal

A National Speedway Licence can be used at all AASA-sanctioned speedway events. To renew an existing licence, please complete the same form and include your current licence number.

Club Speedway Licence Application / Renewal

This licence is valid for AASA-sanctioned test and tune and club events. It is not a racing licence and cannot be used to compete in racing events at race meetings. National Karting Licence Application / Renewal

A National Karting Licence can be used at all AASA sanctioned karting event and is available for $125.00 for 12 months. To renew an existing licence, please complete the same form and include your current licence number.
