It is with deep sadness that the team at the Australian Auto Sport Alliance Pty Ltd (AASA), note the passing of Brian Dawson in Adelaide last Saturday.
Brian Dawson, a widely known and respected insurance broker and entrepreneur, who was well known to and highly respected within the motor sport industry, was fundamental in placing the original AASA Insurance with Lloyds of London, in 2003.
Brian’s knowledge and experience was vital in guiding the preparation, structure and execution of the business case for an alternate sanctioning offer to Australian motor sport. His guidance and counsel, along with John Horsell, to the founders of AASA, the late Mr Bob Jane, the late Mick Ronke and others, led to successful placement at Lloyds, and the birth of the AASA.
The AASA will be forever indebted for the guiding hand and oversight he provided in the formative years, which now continues with HDL Ltd.
