Finley Tractor Pull Attracts Thousands

Tractor-Pull-4

Imagine a top fuel dragster and your grandpa’s old John Deer had a baby. Well, what you would get is the multi-engined, 3000 horsepower monsters which compete in the Tractor Pull.

This month the Finley Tractor Pull played host to several thousand spectators who watched on as custom built tractors attempted to pull the “sled” the full 100 metres to victory. This is no simple game however, with tractors segregated into classes based on weight, engine size and aspiration, the “sled” digs deeper into the ground the further and the faster you go. Finding the balance between speed and momentum is the key to achieving a “Full Pull”.

At the bottom are the mini classes, small tractors limited to 8 feet long and 6 feet wide with small block naturally aspirated engines. As you climb up through the ranks the weight, size and power of the machines increases until multiple engines, maybe even an aircraft engine, super/turbochargers and Nitrous are all thrown in for maximum attack!

Competition is measured in distance with the scores of all three runs combined for a total. The event once dominated by local farmers now plays host to people from all walks of life, bringing action and community together with astonishing crowds.

Congratulations to the winners of all classes:

  • Limited Mini: The Gambler
  • Super Mini: Flamin Furious
  • Open Mini: Infected
  • Outlaw Mini: Blown Income II
  • Limited Modified: Shillberite
  • Open Modified: Riverina Screamer
  • 2WD Trucks: Sudden Impact
  • Pro-Stock A: Wolverine Deere II

The tractors will return on the 15th of March for Round 4 – The Elmore Tractor Pull.
