Fun Days off to Flying Start

The first of six Winton Fun Days occurred on Sunday, the event ran smoothly and was a great success.

Not only did it deliver the enjoyment factor, but it also proved hugely popular, with a capacity entry of 130 cars.

The 130 cars were split into six groups based on car performance and speed, although drivers at Fun Days are not allowed to exceed 80% of the car’s potential.

The event at the ‘Nation’s Action Track’ lived up to the venues title with all competitors competing in no less than five, 13-minute sessions, totalling 65 minutes of track time.

In three of the five sessions drivers were allowed to take a passenger around the track, 53 drivers took up the option. Meaning that in total 183 people lapped the circuit across the course of the day.

Thanks also to the Motorsport Training Australia crew for their assistance over the course of the day.

All Fun Days are held at Winton Motor Raceway, around 90-minutes north of Melbourne, just outside the country town of Benalla.

The next Winton Fun Day takes place on May 18, for more information click here.
