Another category enjoying new ownership and a fresh look in 2025 is the Australian Super Tin Tops Championship (formerly Super TT Australia).
With a fresh outlook on the all inclusive category, the goal is clear, “simplicity is what we are after”. Step 1 is to do away with the complicated classes of yesteryear to be replaced by an all new four class system built to suit a wide range of pre-existing vehicles: Supreme, Super 6, High Performance and Outlaws.
Supreme Tin Tops is a class for all cars 2.2L and below. Fibreglass and carbon panels, Lexan or polycarbonate windows are all accepted and tyre choice is completely open.
Super 6 Tin Tops is a category predominantly aimed at our Aussie heroes, the Falcon and Commodore, but is open to all 6 cylinder competitors. HQ’s, utes as well the wide array of 6 cylinder sedans from Japan and Europe will all find a home in this class.
High Performance Tin Tops is where things start to pick up pace: 2200cc to 4400cc engines make up the key parameter of this class of cars.
Outlaw Tin Tops are the top dogs of the category, 4400cc to 7000cc engine size means horsepower a-plenty! Any other freakishly fast competitors from other classes may also find themselves promoted to Outlaws in order to keep the balance. LS Swaps and big Turbo builds will dominate the Outlaws, a class which will bring a lot of noise and excitement to the front of the grid.
With eleven entrants already confirmed in the early stages, we cannot wait to see the Super Tin Tops return in force for round 1 of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series at Winton Raceway, February 28th.
