Round 3 of the Hi-Tec Oils Drift All Stars Series took place at Winton Motor Raceway on the weekend and was a highly competitive and action-packed event, full of sideways action.
For the first time this year, the Hi-Tec Oils Drift All Stars Series had the track to themselves having previously shared the stage with the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series.
Round 1 occurred at Sydney Motorsport Park in early May. Round 2 was a real spectacle taking place under the floodlight in Queensland Raceway at the end of June.
Ben Barnes won the second event from Scott Schembri and James Abbott, and these three were looking to do the same last weekend.
Fast forward four weeks and the sideways aces were back on track again, this time at the ‘Nations Action Track,’ Winton Motor Raceway.
The weather was perfect all weekend long and made for some great action.
In the qualifying rounds Scott Schembri in his Nissan was the man to beat, he completed a run for which he received an incredible score of 94.3 a full three points clear of Jabbs and Round 3 winner Ben Barnes who scored 89.7.
However, at the end of the event it was Glen Omerod that took the round honours and in doing so took home the $1500 prize.
James Abbott was second and claimed his $1000 bonus, while Schembri finished third and was given $500.
Sadly, for Schembri, it was his second podium without a win in as many rounds, however it was a good hall of championship points. Jordan Sanderson rounded out the top four.
James Abbottnow leads the series from Schembri and Barnes, with his win on the weekend Ormerod sits in fourth.
The next round also takes place at Winton Motor Raceway from October 4-6.
